Clydesdale
mare "Lucy" was purchased on the same day "Heidi"
and they make a beautiful matching pair.
Lucy"
had had an unlucky time as a brood mare, having lost twin foals
before being purchased by the "Aberdeen City Council",
where they tried for several years to produce a foal from her, but
she never had any while she was there.
The
council decided to sell her everyone told us that
she would never have a foal.
We liked her a lot and brought her home to Torbruad, what was another
mouth to feed anyway and she is a lovely lady. We put her to "Prince"
a month after she came home and in May 2000 she produced her first foal for us (Now 5 to date). She is a wonderful mother and spends all summer in the
paddocks dotting on her new foals.
